In addition to her expanding commercial work, Martin shot and is currently in post on a youth sports driven feature documentary, as well as a pilot for a wanderlust travel television show.
Originally on the path to becoming an art teacher she completely changed course the moment she walked onto a film set for the first time. She worked her way through almost all of the roles you can have in film production; working as an Art Director and Editor to support herself through college before falling in love with Directing and Cinematography.
Jillian’s directing style when it comes to talent is to be up close and personal. She always creates a relationship with the talent so an effortlessness and ease come off on screen. She believes in owning her shots and as a result, often prefers to operate the camera herself when she can. She’s not afraid to repel from a rock-climbing wall carrying a camera, to be submerged underwater in the middle of the ocean with equipment, or to skate behind talent to get the right shot.www.JillianMartin.com
