Recently named by Adweek in 2018 as one of the “Top 100 Creatives.” and one of the “15 Top Directors to Watch,” (Click for Links). Jillian Martin brings passion to every project she directs. Jillian was nominated by StudioDaily as a part of the first roster of Exceptional Women in Production and Post and is part of the Free the Bid movement.

Her celebrity work includes names like: Janelle Monae, Brooke Burke-Charvet, Georgia May Jagger, Jen Weiderstrom, Sage Erickson, and Justin Verlander to name a few.

In addition to her expanding commercial work, Martin shot and is currently in post on a youth sports driven feature documentary, as well as a pilot for a wanderlust travel television show.

Originally on the path to becoming an art teacher she completely changed course the moment she walked onto a film set for the first time. She worked her way through almost all of the roles you can have in film production; working as an Art Director and Editor to support herself through college before falling in love with Directing and Cinematography.

Jillian’s directing style when it comes to talent is to be up close and personal. She always creates a relationship with the talent so an effortlessness and ease come off on screen. She believes in owning her shots and as a result, often prefers to operate the camera herself when she can. She’s not afraid to repel from a rock-climbing wall carrying a camera, to be submerged underwater in the middle of the ocean with equipment, or to skate behind talent to get the right shot.
