As an actor, Tate Donovan has appeared in over 40 films, including MANCHESTER BY THE SEA, ARGO (SAG award), ELVIS AND NIXON, GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK, MEMPHIS BELLE, LOVE POTION #9, CLEAN AND SOBER, the title voice in Disney’s HERCULES.
TV credits include Man in the High Castle, Masters of Sex, 24, Damages, The OC and Friends amongst others.
Directing credits include episodes of Madam Secretary (CBS), Bloodline (Netflix), Damages (FX), The Fosters (Freeform) Glee (Fox), Weeds (Showtime) Gossip Girl (Fox) The OC (Fox) and the ESPN 30 For 30 Documentary Short ‘Arthur and Johnnie’, for which he which won an EMMY. Tate also directed the full length documentary ‘The Iranian Hotages Crisis and America’s Game’ for NFL FILMS TIMELINE series, produced by George Clooney.
On Broadway Tate has stared in TONY Award winning productions with Judi Dench in ‘Amy’s View’, Frances McDormond in ‘Good People’,and other NY productions of ‘Picnic’, ‘Lobby Hero’, ‘Medieval Play’ and the ‘American Plan’.
Tate has recently worked with GSD&M on a series of spots to debut his commercial career.
