BIOGRAPHY

German-born Marc Schölermann started his directing career at the age of 13 shooting his own Super-8 movies in the basement of his family home. Always envisioning a career in directing, he studied at Filmakademie Ludwigsburg and ultimately was signed as a multifaceted, creative and technical director. Marc has filmed in some of the most exotic and extreme locations on the planet, from the black sands of the Karakum desert in China for Huawei, to the coldest, most inhospitable locations on the planet such as the Swiss Alps, The Xinxiang Province in Northwest China, Northern Russia, and the Pyrenees Mountains in France. Whether it be iconic locations or a formation of helicopters shooting, or 9 BMWs doing ballet on ice fields, Marc uses cutting edge equipment in cranes, drones, snowmobiles with stabilized rigs and camera cars built for the most extreme weather conditions. Marc Schölermann’s commercials have received numerous national and international awards having been recognized by the Clios, Cannes Lions, OneShow, Cresta Award, New York Festivals and the Art Director’s Club. Over the last decade, he has directed numerous commercials for clients such as Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, Acura, Ram Trucks, Samsung, Cafe Royal and many more. He also directed his first feature film, MGM/Lakeshore’s thrilller “Pathology”, written by Neveldine/Taylor, starring Milo Ventimiglia, Alyssa Milano, Michael Weston and Lauren Lee Smith.
