Matthew Weiner is an award winning Director, Producer and Writer for several landmark television series including Madmen, The Sopranos, The Romanoffs and Orange is the New Black.
Born in Maryland, Weiner started his career in television working on the hit series Becker before joining The Sopranos where Weiner’s gift for compelling storytelling evolved into writing and producing on the show. The Sopranos would lead Weiner to create Madmen, one of the most important television series in the history of the medium. Weiner created, directed, produced and wrote the iconic series which fictionalized the golden age of advertising in New York in the 1960’s. Weiner’s work as a Director, Producer and Writer has been recognized with an impressive 28 awards and 54 Nominations, including BAFTAS, Golden Globes, Emmys, DGA, WGA AND PGA. With Weiner’s diverse, humanity infused storytelling and unique understanding of advertising, it’s only fitting that he would return once again to the world of advertising as a Director.
